Desdemona, Felix and Jinx live as only children in their ordinary houses with their ordinary parents. About the Author
Award-winning author, Lauren Hudson, co-authored her first book, Our Best Tomorrow, at age thirteen. She is the recipient of a Mom's Choice Gold Award, E-Lit Silver Award, Great Southeast Book Festival Award and young adult book awards at the New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco Book Festivals. The Ascension is a well-written, engaging story about three teens who, at the stroke of midnight on their fifteenth birthday, learn that the life they have known is not what it seemed. The teens learn much that first night after they are brought together and their lives, as well as the lives of many others, depend on what these three can do when they work together.
This book is an excellent read for the YA audience and is suitable for both boys and girls. Language and vocabulary are appropriate for the age of the readers and the interest level is high. Hopefully, sequels will follow!
I highly recommend this book to boys and girls who love to read, as well as to parents who want to encourage their children to read more. The plot is fresh, new, and highly entertaining!
Really enjoyed this book. Great pacing and solid writing--with a fun plot. Not usually a genre I gravitate towards, but I'm glad I went with a friend's recommendation and read this.
Move over J K Rowling. This is the future of fantasy drama. Lauren Hudson's ability to keep you intrigued is a treat. You won't want to put it down once you start reading.

This book plays with your mind from the beginning. There are so many plot twists along the way that you never know what's coming next and you can't put the book down. If you liked the Hunger Games and Harry Potter, you will definitely like this book!
A great read about three lovable siblings who go on an adventure to to save a friend. It's very faced paced, which makes it hard to put down. I love the character development, each character gets more and more complex and enduring as the book progresses. I strongly recommend this book for anyone looking for a great, engaging fantasy novel.
At the end of every chapter I kept reading because I couldn’t wait to see what happened next. The story was very creative, with many unexpected twists and turns. I loved how the family came together in their new world to face a huge challenge. I look forward to reading the other books in the series when they come out.
